Dr. Levy named Program Chair at the 2011 SEPI (Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration) Conference

Dr. Levy has been named Program Chair this year at the 2011 annual SEPI (Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration) conference. The conference will be held in Washington DC, USA, from May 19-22, 2011.

Current graduate students Bill Ellison and Joe Beeney will be presenting this year; also presenting is former graduate student Rachel Wasserman. Samantha Bernecker and Wes Scala will be presenting posters.

New Graduate Student: Tracy Clouthier

Congratulations to Tracy Clouthier who recently accepted our offer for admission in Penn State's clinical psychology program to work with Dr. Levy. We look forward to Tracy's arrival this summer!

Outstanding Leadership Award

Sharon Nelson has been awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Penn State Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary.

Lori Scott Dissertation

Congratulations to Lori Scott for successfully defending her dissertation.

Pennsylvania Psychological Association Awards

Sam Bernecker has been awarded the Pennsylvania Psychological Association Undergraduate Research Award. Click here for pictures.

Tenure & Awards

On May 14th, 2010, following the the College of Liberal Arts Promotion and Tenure Committee approval and the Dean recommendation for tenure both the President of the University, Graham Spanier, and the The Board of Trustees at the Pennsylvania State University approved Dr. Levy's promotion to the rank of Associate Professor and granted tenure.

Sam Bernecker has been awarded a Schreyer Honors College Summer Research Grant.

We are pleased to announce Samantha Bernecker as the new lab manager.

Doctoral Students and Awards

Sam Bernecker won first prize in information literacy from the library at the Undergraduate Research Exhibition. Other award winners can be seen here.

Dissertation Research Grant

Joe Beeney has received the National Institutes of Health Mental Health Dissertation Research Grant.

Achievement Conference

Justin Meyer won second place at the Achievement Conference. This conference included both graduate and undergraduate students.

Wisniewski Family Enhancement Fund

Joe Beeney has received the Wisniewski Family Enhancement Fund in psychology. This fund is for graduate students who are working toward a career related to mental health with a neuroscience emphasis.


Joe Beeney has received the Liberal Arts Dissertation Award and Diversity Research Fund Award.

Zach Infantolino has received the Mona Shibley Bird Memorial Scholarship for a superior academic record and exhibiting promise of careers in the field of psychology.

Dr. Levy has been awarded the American Psychological Foundation 2008 Division 29 (Psychotherapy) of the American Psychological Association Early Career Award

July 2008:

Rachel Wasserman has received 116 (top 0.6 percentile) on her NRSA Grant Application

Dr. Levy has received the Early Career Award by the Society for Psychotherapy Research

May 2008:

Dr. Levy has been awarded the Henry P. and Page Laughlin Distinguished Teacher Award by the American Society of Psychoanalytic Physicians, Honorary Membership in the American Psychoanalytic Association, and the Professor of the Year by the The Pennsylvania State University Chapter of Psi Chi.

April 2008:

Lori Scott has been awarded a dissertation grant from the Research and Graduate Studdies Office (RGSO)
